About us
Our history as members of your legal community
The law firm of Barnes, Grimes, Bunce & Fraley, PLLC, is a rooted and trusted legal source for people throughout the Davidson and Davie
Counties of North Carolina, area. Since 1946, our firm has been dedicated to providing individualized, honest and aggressive representation.
Our founder, the late Beamer H. Barnes, began our firm before joining the U.S. Army in 1942. He served in Austria and worked as a lawyer for military tribunal hearings. Then, upon his return to the United States, he continued working as an attorney at his own practice. He worked with his paralegal, the late Adele Tuttle, for 54 years at our firm.
In 1963, attorney Jerry Grimes joined the firm and then in 1979, attorney D. Linwood Bunce II joined the firm. Both Mr. Grimes and Mr. Bunce began their legal careers at our firm. Then in 2003, attorney Shawn Fraley joined the firm after working in the District Attorney’s Office. Attorney Wes Brittain joined the firm in 2014, after working in private practice with a focus on personal injury for five years.
As one of the oldest firms in Lexington, our lawyers have built a positive reputation within the community. We connect with our clients and always maintain relationships that promote open communication. We are experienced trial attorneys and aggressively handle our cases, striving for the best possible result for each client. At our firm, we work very hard to keep you updated at all times and achieve the best results possible for your situation.
